About Me
“Happiness is always around cake and even more so when there is a special celebration”
My passion for baking has always been my kind of meditation but was kick-started into action when my daughter was born over 20 years ago followed soon after by my two cake hungry boys!
Each one of their birthdays I vowed to create a special themed party cake which as the years passed quickly by became more elaborate and my learning skills were being stretched with only baking/decorating books at the time before the wonderful world wide web. My cake creations were soon attracting the attention of family and friends birthdays and celebrations too.
Just five years ago an exciting opportunity to join a new cake shop business based in Canford Cliffs in Poole became available. I knew this would enable my skills to become professional, meet new clients and help them to design a special celebration cake.
Working professionally for 5 years increased my desire to set up my wedding cake business from my home kitchen just over a year ago now. My business is based close to Bournemouth’s sandy beaches and beautiful Dorset Jurassic coastline alongside the natural beauty of the New Forest. This has inspired me to reflect these local elements in my wedding cake designs.
When I’m not immersing myself in yummy cake creations you’ll find me at my sewing machine enjoying my other passion for making clothes and bags (we can never have too many). Also, a long time ago now, I designed and made my own wedding dress and one for my sister too.
I’ve heard an arty mind never stops designing and creating – I think that’s probably true for me!
